He was the most emo of the turtles. He'd go to college with his high school girlfriend who will then dump him and he'll start smoking cloves and wearing a trench coat not just as a disguise but as a fashion choice. Besides, his weapons sucked. Those little sai's were useless in the backyard against stronger, older brothers. You might as well just drop the knives and start punching someone. Nun-chucks, though, were some cold shit liable to poke someone's eye out. And you could lose nun-chucks! With a little creativity you can get a new, ad-hoc pair out of towels or yo-yos or sausages...
